Agoraphobia Cure
To the person suffering from agoraphobia, the disorder could be very debilitating. It is a serious condition. However, for the vast majority, it is treatable.
But, what makes agoraphobia treatment and cure difficult and more complicated is that sometimes patients have more than one phobia. It is also made more difficult by substance abuse and depression in some patients. For others, heart disease, diabetes, environment and heredity have to be considered in agoraphobia cures. This is why agoraphobia treatment has to be tapered to the individual. Even then, the cure time of agoraphobia is decreasing with the application of energy psychology.
While agoraphobia cure is individualized, the following are the standard approaches to cure agoraphobia. These have been proven to be effective and the therapist may use these approaches singularly or in combination:
Agoraphobia Cure - Behavior Therapy
The method: Redirecting and the patients' behavior patterns and modifying them. The behavior therapy's objective is to control unwanted behavior by graduated exposure to them. This therapy may be very uncomfortable at times aside from not being the most effective intervention therapy and is usually applied in combination with other agoraphobia cures.
Agoraphobia Cure - Cognitive Therapy
The cognitive therapy focuses on redirecting harmful and unproductive thought patterns. Dynamics and exercises include self-examination of the individual regarding his thoughts and feelings and are guided to recognize the realistic from the unrealistic thoughts. Like the behavior therapy, this involves the patient to actively participate in his recovery thereby giving the patient a sense of control.
Agoraphobia Cure - The Cognitive/Behavior Therapy
In many instances, the therapist may apply the CBT, combining the cognitive and behavior therapy. Like the cognitive therapy and the behavior therapy, the patient is actively involved in the recovery program and the skills that are learned are useful in actual applications.
Agoraphobia Cure - Relaxation Techniques
This therapy is applied to patients suffering from agoraphobia that has been triggered by stress. The patient is taught to use techniques such as relaxed breathing, exercises, self-imaging, self-affirmation and other techniques that will enable him to cope better under stressful conditions.
Agoraphobia Cure - Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is digging deep into the person's subconscious that could be the cause of attacks. Some patients though are not very comfortable with this approach as they have no personal involvement in it and therefore have no control.
Agoraphobia Cure - Neuro-Linguistic Programming
The neuro-linguistic programming or the NLP believes that the agoraphobia is the result of the constructs the patient has created that is sometimes in contradiction with reality. The NLP reprograms the constructs that the person has created to arrive at an agoraphobia cure.
Agoraphobia Cure - Energy Psychology
The energy psychology is coming out as the most effective of the entire agoraphobia cure. The effects of the energy psychology are fast, safe and long lasting. There are several advantages of the energy psychology:
* It combines all of the previous treatments mentioned where the results are life changing. The skills learned could be used in actual and practical circumstances and daily applications.
* Few sessions are required and the treatment is permanent aside from being the most economical.
* The treatment is more private. The patient can choose the location that is convenient and comfortable.
Often, the person does not need a therapist and the treatment procedures are simple and are easy to learn.
